COVID-19
KAAC plans to offer its full menu of competitive opportunities to Kentucky students this year, including Governor’s Cup, JV Challenge, and the Kentucky Colonels Sixth Grade Showcase.
We’re hopeful pandemic conditions will allow for traditional in-person competitions, but if not we are also preparing online formats of all our events, including Quick Recall. Depending on pandemic travel restrictions, students could take part in online events at host sites, at their own school, or at home. Online events will include security protocols that help us maintain the high level of integrity our events are known for.
Further information, including revised membership deadlines, will be posted here and emailed to coaches. The format for each event will be announced a few weeks in advance of those deadlines so schools may make informed choices about their participation.
KAAC CONFERENCE
Our annual conference has been cancelled.
QUICK RECALL/FPS CERTIFICATION
Due to the pandemic, anyone certified last year in Quick Recall or FPS will be grandfathered in for our 2020-21 events. Online training will be available for anyone new needing certification for the coming year.
Thank you for your participation and we look forward to another successful year!

- NAQT "You Gotta Know": These study lists include many topics that are commonly found in question sets, especially NAQT ones.
- Quiz Bowl Packets: Comprehensive site for old quiz bowl packets and a great source for study. Novice and freshman/sophomore packets will have easier questions. You can learn a lot by reading questions and paying attention to the early clues. Do not avoid the collegiate sets; that is where you can pick up great information for early hits.
- HSAPQ Quiz Bowl Packets: - High School Academic Pyramid Questions maintains a site with their past question sets. Use these for study.
- Torrey Pines: Database: - This resource allows you to search by category and difficulty to find the sort of tossups you need most to study. The site features two "play-along" functions, one of which hides the answers to tossups until you click on them, the other of which actually reveals words in the tossups one at a time so you can buzz in on your computer, give your answer, and see how you stack up against the competition.
- Quizlet Study Cards: Thousands of sets of cards for study (many are on topics found in quiz bowl).
- Flashcard Exchange Study Cards: Tons of card sets for study and many are on topics pertinent to quiz bowl. The poetry class notes from ACE Camp this summer are listed as poetry "ace camp 2011".
- Jeopardy Questions: Data base of thousands of past Jeopardy! questions organized chronologically.
- High School Quiz Bowl: Many people enjoy looking through the forum to find out about upcoming tournaments and discussing quiz bowl issues through "threads". There are links to archived questions sets for middle, high school, and college on the forum's homepage.
