PES Selects New Assistant Principal

Rady Martin is in his twentieth year of his education career, with seven of those being as a principal. Martin has worked at Betsy Layne Elementary, May Valley Elementary, Allen Central High, South Floyd and McDowell Elementary with teaching special education and health and administrative experience at elementary, middle and high school. 


Martin was a member of the Floyd County Schools’ Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment team under Dr. Patricia Watson. This cadre was developed to grow leaders within the organization and the experience, according to Martin, has been the most beneficial professional experience of his career. 


Martin currently serves as the President of South Central Little League here in Floyd County, He is also the Director of Youth Basketball at the Floyd County Community Center.


Martin says, “I plan to use whatever talents and gifts I possess to make a positive influence on the lives of children. I’m excited to join the Blackcat Family!”


Shepherd says, “We’re happy to have Ray Martin back serving our students as an assistant principal. His dedication to helping provide opportunities to our students can be seen throughout his career and in his work with children outside the educational setting.” Shepherd continues, “We look forward to working with Rady and all our school administrators to grow and get better for our students.”


Rady and his wife Rhonda reside in McDowell.
