Allen Advances in KOSAA Professional Assistants Academy

Superintendent Anna Shepherd congratulates Maggie Allen for completing training requirements in the Kentucky Organization of Superintendents’ Administrative Assistants (KOSAA) professional development program sponsored by the Kentucky School Boards Association.

Maggie Allen, who has served as the administrative assistant to the superintendent in the District Central Office since 2013, achieved Level VI of the KOSAA academy’s ten-tiered training curriculum this month in Lexington. To achieve this level, Maggie completed a minimum number of training hours and volunteer service. Training topics include areas such as Board Member Training Hours, Superintendent Search, Closed and Special Called Board Meetings, District Construction Projects, Standard Operating Procedures, and Policy and Procedure Annual Update. Preparing for a board of education meeting is a crucial part of Maggie’s job duties.

Superintendent Shepherd says, “I have been blessed to know Maggie for many years. She is a wonderful person and a dedicated employee who plays a key role in the effective and efficient operations of our central office and in particular, the office of the Superintendent. Knowing she would be there to assist me made this role more appealing and I appreciate all she does. We are all very proud to see Maggie continue  to grow professionally.”

Maggie lives with her twin girls, Kaylee and Lyndsee, who attend Floyd Central High School. Maggie also has an adult son, Aaron Hall and is the widow of the late Jonathan Lynn Allen.
