REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS

The Floyd County Board of Education is requesting sealed bids for the proposed sale of the McDowell Elementary School located at 366 S.R. #680, McDowell, Kentucky 41647. The Board of Education is accepting bids to sell the entire property without division.  All Sealed bids must be submitted using the official bid form and clearly marked on the exterior of the envelope with “Sealed Bid McDowell Elementary Property”. Only bids submitted on official bid forms obtained from the district will be accepted.

To obtain copies of official bid forms, this request for sealed bids, and to schedule site visits contact Linda Hackworth, Director of Facilities, 442 Ky Rt 550, Eastern KY 41622, or via phone at 606-874-9569 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, prior to the  time and date specified for bid opening. 

 

Sealed bids may be mailed or hand delivered to Linda Hackworth, Director of Facilities, 442 Ky Rt 550, Eastern KY 41622. Sealed bids will be accepted until 1:55 PM, Tuesday, September 28, 2021, and will be publically opened at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 28,2021, at the Maintenance Office Conference Room located at the contact address listed above. All bids must be received by the time designated in the invitation and none will be considered thereafter. The Board of Education cannot assume the responsibility for any delay as a result of failure of the mails to deliver the bids on time. Bids will be opened and read at the time and location stated above. You are invited to be present at the bid opening.

 

The Floyd County Board of Education will tabulate all bids received, meeting all specifications and conditions, and subject to all other provisions of this invitation to bid and may sell the surplus property to the best evaluated bidder(s), whichever is deemed to be in the best interest of The Floyd County Board of Education. The Floyd County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids based on the appraised value. Bids will be considered at the regular scheduled board meeting to be held in October 2021, or before if possible.

Feet square feet or 4.98 Acres. 

 

All iron pins set are 5/8 inch rebar, 18 inches long with a 2 inch aluminum cap stamped “Bocook Engineering PLS 3921”.  All PK nails set are 1.5 inches long and are magnetic and have a 2" diameter metal disk bearing PLS #3921.  This description is based on a survey made by Thomas E. Nairn, PLS #3921 under his direct supervision, on August 14, 16 and 31, 2017.  This survey having a precision of +/-0.05’ + 100 PPM and was not adjusted and is an “Urban Survey”, and the accuracy and precision of said survey meets all the specifications of an “Urban Survey”.  The completion date of field surveying was August 31, 2017.
