Superintendent's Message

Dear Floyd County Schools Families, Staff, Students and Community,
I hope you are enjoying our return to a school year with a focus on the whole school, whole child, whole community approach. Our goals continue to be to inspire, innovate, and instill learning with our students and staff, so they each experience growth, support and success.
Our top priority is the health, safety and well-being of students, employees and visitors to our facilities. Regular cleaning and disinfecting of facilities and buses will continue as will temperature checks upon entry to facilities. We will continue to follow our Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan.  Click here to view that plan.
We want to encourage you to get vaccinated and consider doing so for your child ages 12 and older enrolled with us. One way to help guarantee we have a year of uninterrupted in-person/in-classroom learning is through achieving herd immunity in our county, region and state.  Please help us to reach that goal.
I cannot say enough about how each person in this school district and our communities has worked to ensure the well-being of one another. Let's continue to keep a calm and steady course throughout this school year.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, support, and grace for Floyd County Schools as we move forward together.
