Silver Salute! a School Award Initiated by John P. Carroll

A festive Christmas garland with pine needles, berries, and pinecones.

A SILVER SALUTE is an award that began after a judging event in 2006 by suggestion of Mr. John Carroll, a member of the Big Sandy Campus, Kentucky Community and Technical College System. This award is not for one person, but it is the judges’ choice of the BEST SCHOOL SECTION.

The Silver Salute is given when the writings of a school are described as: “focused, original, diverse, and logically written with wonderful word choices to delight the reader.” (J. Carroll)
